Amelie (13) thinks of herself as a tough big-city kid and she is probably the most stubborn girl in all of Berlin. She doesn’t let anyone tell her what to do, least of all her parents. After another asthma attack, they ship her off to a special clinic in the mountains, which is exactly what Amelie doesn’t want. Before long, she runs away into the mountains where she bumps into 15-year-old Bart. Bart readily becomes her travelling companion – and proves to be just as stubborn as her. The promise of the healing power of the traditional midsummer fire draws the pair right up to the mountain peak, while the risky ascent turns into a daring, emotional adventure. The film was awarded at Berlinale 2017 (Special Mention in Generation Kplus), Zlín, Chicago, Kyoto, and screened at festivals such as Giffoni and TIFF Kids.
