16th ZFF Begins Tonight with Loveling and Concert

The official opening ceremony and a screening of the Brazilian film Loveling tonight at 8pm launch the 16th Zagreb Film Festival. Tickets for the screening, attended by the film’s director Gustavo Pizzi, are not on sale, but this heartwarming human drama about the chaotic life of a Brazilian middle-class family which premiered at Sundance is also scheduled for Sunday, 18 November at 6pm at Europa cinema and at 7pm at Dubrava People’s University.

However, ZFF has a treat for everyone – a concert for the opening. Starting from 7pm, we will be hanging out outside the cinema with a live concert by the Soul Stash band from Zagreb, made out of a wish to enrich Zagreb’s clubbing scene with live performances of both beloved and hidden neo soul and hip hop gems. The band consists of vocal Melanie Malike Acorlor, bass player Viktor Slamnig, drummer Daniel Kadijević and pianist Vid Hribar. For the opening concert Soul Stash is preparing a real festival warm-up playlist a terrific combination of soul evergreens and recent hip hop hits.

After the concert, the party continues with DJ LukadeLux from Zagreb, who launched the Casual Monday project, with a playlist of soul, funk, blues, jazz, disco and house sounds.

The festival box office is open from 10am to 8pm, in a booth near Europa cinema, with ticket sale for all the screenings and information about all the films, events and programs of the 16th ZFF
