In a small town in the north of Senegal, Baba and Sembene, two avid young cinephiles, are desperate to see a movie on the big screen of their local cinema before it closes its doors forever. The film was screened at Venice and Toronto, and won awards at Fribourg (Jury Prize), First Run Film Festival (Best Director) etc.

Mamadou Dia

He is completing his MFA at Tisch School of the Arts, New York University. His stories are rooted in intimate daily realities inspired by his life growing up in Senegal and traveling across the African continent.
